Fairmont Regional Medical Center lays off 25 employees, but primary care positions remain intact
FAIRMONT Due to a reorganization of administrative functions, Fairmont Regional Medical Center laid off 25 employees Wednesday.
The layoffs were almost exclusive to administrative jobs at the hospital, with primary care positions remaining intact, according to Michael Sarrao, vice president of Fairmont Regional Medical Center and Alecto Healthcare Services, the hospitals parent company.

According to talking points listed from a recent meeting among hospital officials, Alecto officials and Marion County leaders, Fairmont Regional has seen a decline in emergency patients and inpatients.
