(186,611 posts)I know of someone whos dealt with him. Getting money out of him is a real pain.
His normal MO is to get contractors or vendors who cant possibly go head to head against him legally. He extends, sometimes counter sues. Eventually he says - ok you say I owe you this. Ive spent this on legal fees so Ill subtract that and pay the rest. The vendor, if they can afford to stay in it, almost has to agree or they could end up with nothing.

(18,984 posts)back when he was a Dem. Oh well, several former WV governors ended up in jail. I don't know why people in WV elect such iffy people to represent them.

(174 posts)pay first basis to vendors for a long time because of his failure to pay. Caused a lot of business to lose everything and he would then swoop them up for about nothing .
