GOP trying to distract voters, targeted W.Va. delegate says

The day after a West Virginia Republican Party operative filed a third complaint against him, Delegate Jim Morgan said the GOP is trying to distract voters’ attention from important issues facing the state.

“They’re just putting stuff out to see what happens,” said Morgan, who represents parts of Cabell and Lincoln counties. “I just hope we can find something to talk about worthwhile for the state of West Virginia instead of looking at things that, in my opinion, are not wrong and detract from creating jobs and having a stable tax structure.

”Earlier this week, Rob Cornelius filed an election complaint against Morgan, alleging that the 15-year House Democrat improperly gave money to a Lincoln County political action committee called PRO-PAC two years ago. Cornelius has previously filed ethics and election complaints against Morgan.

So far this year, Cornelius has filed complaints — mostly with the Ethics Commission — against 13 House Democrats. In turn, one of those House members, Delegate Justin Marcum, D-Mingo, filed an ethics complaint against Cornelius....
