GOP approached several senators about switching parties

State Sen. Daniel Hall of Wyoming County, who switched parties to become a Republican late Wednesday, was not the only Democratic senator Republicans tried to cajole into switching parties in their effort to break the 17-17 Senate tie produced by Tuesdays elections.
Sen. Roman Prezioso, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, was approached about switching parties, but declined to say who asked him.
Yeah, Id say that I was asked, Prezioso, D-Marion, said Thursday morning. It was in the form of a friendly conversation. I have no appetite for changing parties. I dont believe you jump ship.
There were also entreaties made to Sen. Bob Plymale, the chairman of the Senate Education Committee, although he declined to say who called him....
