Thought this was a very respectful analysis

An article about West Virginians and Trump that I thought was respectful of people rather than dismissive, patronizing or demeaning.

I sent it to a friend who grew up in Wheeling, and am wondering what my DU compatriots from WV think about it.

Perception.

But Trump has promoted the idea that someone who cares about the fate of people new to the country must care less about those who have been here longer—and this idea resonates among people who believe that the rest of the country doesn’t care about them at all, and doesn’t see them as kin.

A liberal friend just posted something about "Help our vets before we help refugees" and I wondered "why not help both"?

But the idea that the rest of the country doesn't care about WV is what came through loud and clear in the article, and it needs to be addressed.
