Man charged with firing handgun just before alleged Kyle Rittenhouse shootings

By Lee BrownOctober 14, 2020 | 12:22pm

A man has admitted being first to open fire at the Kenosha protests in the moments before accused teen gunman Kyle Rittenhouse allegedly shot and killed two people and seriously injured another, according to court documents.

Joshua Ziminski, 35, and his wife “both admitted” to detectives that he “fired off a ‘warning shot’ into the air” during the Aug. 25 protests in Wisconsin, according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Post.

Attorneys for Rittenhouse have called the gunshot a “pivotal moment” that left the 17-year-old alleged militia member fearing he had “no way out” as he was chased by protesters with “no way to know who fired that shot.”

On-the-scene reporter Richie McGinniss has also said the sound of the shot was the moment Rittenhouse “went from running away to aiming his weapon” in what the teen’s attorneys insist was self-defense.

this is the first I've heard of another shooter. Wonder how much he was paid? No other witnesses said anything about this.

TPTB are determined to get that teenage, murdering thug off.

This is not new, and doesn't change anything. He was illegally in possession of a gun and thus had no legal ability to be there. None of his attorney's arguments matter - he was not a resident of the State, he was on public property and he was a minor illegally in possession of an assault rifle under State law. He had no right to self-defense just as someone who robs a liquor store can't claim self-defense in returning fire if fired upon by the store clerk.

by the other guy he killed. Never heard of another shooter.

But what you point out are reassuring arguments.

argues that he was threatened by the first protester, I think the ignorant, gun-humping white winger has a chance of walking (maybe with some gun charges).

If we don't ban gunz at protests, this is going to get worse.

The first shot was mentioned in the criminal complant, which was released a few days after the shooting.

It's also mentioned in this NYT analysis of the videos:

His mommy took him across a state line looking for trouble and he found it. He was armed and looking for a soft target.

His intentions make him guilty. Having a fellow nutjob doesn't exonerate little Adolf.

Stick him in with the guy who killed Dahmer.
