WI-HD48: Andrew Hysell (D) and Lisa Rubrich (R) face off in Assembly District 48
Voters in Assembly District 48 will choose from two fresh faces when they fill out their ballots to decide who will represent them in the state Capitol.
The Democratic nominee, attorney Andrew Hysell, emerged from the largest primary field in the state, defeating four other candidates to face Republican Lisa Rubrich, a supervisor in the town of Burke.
The district includes the East Towne Mall area in Madison, as well as Sun Prairie and parts of Dodge County. Rep. Samba Baldeh, D-Madison, currently represents the area but instead sought election to the state Senate, a race he lost. His term will end in January.
The Cap Times sat down with the candidates for the 48th Assembly District to get a feel for their priorities and what they believe makes them the best fit to serve in the Assembly.
