Slow ballot label printing causing voting delays in some municipalities

FOX CITIES, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in the Fox Valley have confirmed with Local 5 News that it’s taking them about ten minutes per voter to print labels for ballots, causing significant delays for voters on day one of early voting in Wisconsin.

Local clerks in Little Chute and Appleton use a statewide system called WisVote, which they say is working very slowly right now, causing the delays.

Local 5 News was in Little Chute at around 1 p.m. this afternoon when the village was experiencing the label printing issue. Village officials said they hope that this can get resolved quickly.

At around 4 p.m., Little Chute officials posted on their Facebook page saying “early in-person voting was shut down early on Tuesday, October 22 due to statewide server issues. We hope to back up and running Wednesday Morning at 8am. We will update Facebook and our website if anything changes.”
