Supreme Court spending eclipses $90M

Spending in Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court race eclipsed $90 million this week as an Elon Musk-aligned PAC poured more into its GOTV efforts backing Brad Schimel and a liberal group added seven figures to its media buy for Susan Crawford.

America PAC reported today adding $1.75 million to its canvassing operation to back Schimel along with $705,857 for phone calls and $640,602 for digital ads. In all, the group reported an additional $3.1 million in spending. That pushed the PAC’s overall investment in the race to $11.5 million.

Meanwhile, WisPolitics has tracked nearly $8 million in expenditures and future ad reservations by the Musk-aligned Building America’s Future PAC. Musk made a $2 million donation to the state GOP late last week.

Altogether, Schimel and those backing him were at nearly $50 million in expenditures and future ad reservations, compared to just under $42 million by Crawford and those backing her
