Wyoming is not a lacrosse state, but on Saturday afternoon youd have had a hard time convincing the Jackson Hole varsity boys team of that fact.
Jackson got its first opportunity to play the sport inside William T. McIntosh Stadium, as visiting Timberline from Boise, Idaho, kicked off the opening round of the Idaho High School Lacrosse League state playoffs. That stadium erupted, much in the same way it would erupt for a football game or a soccer match, when the final horn went off and Jackson shocked the Wolves with an 8-5 victory.
Its so big. Weve always had an uphill battle with this Idaho league, Jacksons George Gervais said. Were not just that team from Jackson. Were legit. People have to worry about us, and were a force to be reckoned with.

With that, Jackson will be playing in the Idaho state semifinals on Thursday. A win there, and Jackson will advance to Saturdays state championship.
