“I can’t even find a home for sale anywhere near Jackson that’s less than one million dollars. And that’s for a one bedroom.”

@rachsieg
⁩ talks to the toy store owners and taxi drivers, as the financial elite descend on Jackson Hole.

We say it's the place where the billionaires have displaced the millionaires.

There's also the term; being "Jackson Holed"... when a small rural community has been taken over by corporate, foreign and investment $$ and gentrified to the Nth degree where you have what is now the abomination known as Jackson Hole.

I recall, back in the 1970s, when you had to go around the square to join up with the other hwys that ran through the valley. It was a tiny western town, now its a tourist trap for the rich and famous only.

I thought that maybe Jackson wasn't the typical Wyoming town.

They didn't have any reporters stationed in Bill, Wyoming, for example.

The ONLY part of Wyoming that anyone who's R&F would be seen. There is no redeeming value to any other portion of it unless it's a ranch near Yellowstone or some ranching or mining interest. They just don't recognize that there are people here* and we don't live like they do so, of course, we don't really exist or warrant their notice.

*Unless they need domestic help or underpaid workers for their boutique restaurant in town. At that point they are now finding there is nobody who can afford to work for them AND commute over the pass and then some where they can afford housing. Of course, the wannabe employers then whine that nobody wants to work.
