Sentencing set for insurance fraud in Hitching Post fire

CHEYENNE – The New Jersey man who admitted to committing insurance fraud in connection with the 2010 Hitching Post Inn fire has a sentencing date set for November.

Falgun Dharia, former property owner of the Hitching Post, pleaded guilty more than a year ago to knowing about the arson there when he filed an insurance claim for more than $13 million.

Multiple sentencing hearings have been rescheduled since then.

The longtime local lodging facility on West Lincolnway erupted in flames six years ago in September 2010.
