CollegeAmerica closes its doors in Cheyenne

CHEYENNE – CollegeAmerica has closed the doors to its Cheyenne campus. The college officially ceased operation March 17.

Eric Juhlin, chief executive officer of the Center for Excellence in Higher Education, said the college closed because on campus enrollment steadily declined during the past few years.

The Center for Excellence in Higher Education is the parent organization for several colleges, including CollegeAmerica and its online counterpart, Independence University.

“Basically, it’s never been a very large campus for us. It’s always been a relatively small population, and that had declined over the last several years coupled with the fact that we were seeing more and more demand for the online education that we offer,” Juhlin said.
