Morrison vows no money for climate conferences and "all that nonsense"

"Australia’s prime minister Scott Morrison has responded to the latest UN Intergovenmental Panel of Climate Change report by declaring that he had no intention of spending money on global climate conferences and “all that sort of nonsense.”

In an early morning interview with radio 2GB’s Alan Jones, where he also supported the push to advertise a horse race on “Australia’s biggest bill-board”, a reference to the sails of a building hitherto known as the Sydney Opera House, Morrison indicated Australia would resume its disruptive role in international climate talks."

(snip)

"'We’re not held to any of (those recommendations) at all, and nor are we bound to go and tip money into that big climate fund,' Morrison told 2GB.

The participation of Australia and other wealthy countries in the Green Climate Fund is seen as critical to keep the Paris climate accord together, as it was a fundamental part of negotiations in the lead up to Paris in 2015."

Yep, we have one of those in charge of our poor country. Needless to say, he thinks Trump's wonderful, and will follow his every word.

Thank God we have an election next year. It can't come soon enough.

or find food THEN the sh't will become and get serious regarding climate change. Climate change deniers posing as so-called leaders need to be purged by their voters.

What horrifies me about these so-called "leaders" is their short-term vision, which really is about feathering their own nests while the going's good, and to hell with everybody else. They refuse to plan past the next election, and it really is a disease that's worldwide.
