I dread to think what would happen if one of my parents falls seriously ill or dies under the current circumstances and restrictions imposed by Australia.

Due to the limitations on the number of people allowed on flights atm for a family of four to get from Europe to Australia the cost is around 50 grand AUD right now and is in no way even guaranteed. Then the added possibility of excessive quarantine bills it's enough to send a family bankrupt.

Australia has done well enough with covid so far but some aspects have been terrible and this article is just one of many that highlights that.
