(20,379 posts)No one would ever go back to the old system. I was 11 when the changeover happened and made a profit of 4c a day on bus fares for three of us to go to school due to conversion. I was laughing!
I had an autistic great-uncle....my grandma chided him for weeks about turning in any "old" cash - on the very day before the deadline he showed up with a big wad of cash he had saved in a shoebox, prompting grandma to absolutely lose it. I calmed her down by telling her a soliciter friend of hers could advise what to do (it all worked out fine)

(100,850 posts)Just barely remember that. I think I only knew about it because my brother, two years older, was interested in it and I had to know everything he did so I saw that because of his interest. I would have been nine then.
