The hypocrisy of it all

Wasn't Joe Hockey on the team that refused to support the means testing of the health rebate scheme? Isn't he the one always leading the argument against scaling back middle class welfare? Wasn't it the Howard Government that introduced all these perks for the middle class?

If one is going to make such outrageous statements, surely one should have a few ideas as to where one would start cutting back on "entitlements". He claimed that with our population ageing, we should think to the future as to how they will survive in their retirement. I would have thought that boosting the superannuation scheme from 9% to 12% through the mining tax would have been a good start. That's right, the coalition has voted against that too.
