There is no provision in the agreement that requires them to have a carbon tax just an agreement that both countries will try to respect and support the others carbon taxes. Ukraine has had a carbon tax since 2011 but the conservatives are trying to say Trudeau is forcing it on them. Ukraine is a sovereign nation and can make its own decisions about their taxes, Canada is not forcing anything on them. Let's hope the large Ukrainian community in Canada (about 1.3 million) will drop the tories because of this, I would love to see it smack them in the face.
