Canada joining international program to build next generation of fighter jets

Canada has reached a deal to join the Global Combat Air Program as an "observer," Canadian government sources said.

The U.K., Japan and Italy are all partners in the multibillion-dollar program to develop and build the sixth-generation fighter jet by 2035.

It was the Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow and I think its proper classification was an interceptor. For the late 1950's ImNotGod 7 hrs ago #3

it was very fast and maneuverable compared to others in production at the time. It was also designed to be built off the assembly line with all Canadian parts. It passed all the test flights with flying colors and was ready for production contracts before the government abruptly shut the program down.

who worked on the Avro Arrow moved to the US and then worked for NASA. A major brain drain for us.
