(54,362 posts)it's highly unlikely he would do that. He's more prone to cut their wages than improve them.

(15,698 posts)I'm afraid I'm not too cognizant of Canadian politics these days.

(54,362 posts)but the Conservative that's running against Trudeau this federal election could win, the Cons are neck and neck with the Liberals in the polls right now and the election is on Sept 20th. It's slightly more likely the Liberals will win another minority government but it could be very, very close.

(15,698 posts)Isn't Doug Ford that crazy guy who was either drunk or loaded at an event?
Let's hope Trudeau wins!

(123,133 posts)Ford was the kid who watched the other dealers sell marijuana in high school on behalf of his boss the mid level dealer. So he has previous management experience he did not share with us when he ran for premier. Someone wrote an article on it years ago, long before he ran. He did not sue. It comes up every so often. He thinks he is going to be PM but was so unpopular when he was first elected and did libertarian things that it scared him. He has stuck to Trudeau like glue on COVID (Premier Kenney of Alberta, a conservative in the right wing Republican mold, tried to lift the rule that people with active covid cases had to shelter at home and could then walk around the community infecting others. That was not popular). I can see Doug Ford doing something for the healthcare workers. I think he would get 'killed' by his own team if he raised anybody's wages though.... you are right about that.
