Can you beat this brain fart?

I interviewed a chap from my alma mater for a job – different year and different degree so I did not know him back in the day. During our chat about the school he mentioned that his degree had been conferred by Margaret Thatcher. I responded that I could not remember who had conferred my degree but Maggie must have been after my time.

The other night I was telling my sister about the conversation to which she commented along the lines of – you did get your degree from Margaret Thatcher you idiot, I sat and watched you get it, Mum has photo’s somewhere.

So. The. First. Female. Prime. Minister. Gave. Me. My. Degree.

I shook hands with Maggie. I got given a piece of paper that demonstrated years of slog. And I had no recollection of it. At. All. Now I have been prompted I vaguely remember it but not in any meaningful way.

Seriously? I mean, how ridiculous is that? One might argue I blacked it our for a reason.... LOL - but really?

I challenge you to beat that brain fart!

seriously, the biggie, the fancy dress, the church, yeah that I remember. But the actual wedding? ZIP.

Of course, that was in 1973, and my dad said the Governor of Florida was there - I don't remember a thing!

I much preferred the one I had to spouse of many years now, in a judge's office, in blue jeans, and coffee and burgers afterward!

Witnesses were good friends, my soon to be stepdaughter, her boyfriend, and some crazies from both workplaces, as well as bosses from both!

I worked as a stage-hand for a music-festival twice a year. Walkie-talkie, access-all-areas pass and my trusty companions: zip ties and a roll of Gaffer-tape.

One of these festivals still stands out because we didn't sell enough tickets (a mere 2500, down from 4000).

About 3 years later I became a fan of a certain rock-band (great music and the lead-singer is just gorgeous) and realized in hindsight that they had been one of our headliners years ago at that very festival.

If only I had known this band back then!
I could have met them in person!
I could have talked to them!
I had had a fucking backstage-pass and everything!
Aaaaaah!
