(1,896 posts)May is a terrible PM who only got the job because she took the poisoned chalice which she has spent the last two years refusing to actually drink. Corbyn is simply rubbish as an opposition leader, losing party members to splinter groups because he thinks Labour doesn't need to take a position on either antisemitism or Brexit. Cable has been on point with Brexit, but the Lib-Dems will never amount to anything while they're still tarred with the brush of their last coalition with the Tories. Foster is a spiteful harridan who is holding the entire nation hostage for cash and policy through her party's pivotal votes. McDonald really has trouble shutting up, for the leader of a party which won't even show up in Parliament. It's possible to sympathise with Sturgeon quite a bit--until you remember that she's only in politics in the first place to remove the blue from the Union Jack. For crying out loud, the US elected a moron who wants to dismantle the administrative state. The UK actually voted to just do it directly---and officially completes the process in two weeks with no replacement plan in place.
The US has Pelosi in place, and a wealth of excellent candidates (also Bernie Sanders) to challenge the executive. The UK doesn't have either of those things. What it does have is MPs who are receiving death threats from basically the same people who murdered Jo Cox.

Dear rest of the world,
Sorry for pretending to be a grown up all these years! We've actually just been three toddlers in a trenchcoat the whole time.
Lots of love,
The UK xx
Neat viral marketing there.
