We have fallen down the rabbit hole.

In June 2016 we stayed up and watched 52% of our country follow a bunch of right wing elitist xenophobic privileged middle aged white men to the edge of a cliff like a bunch of lemmings. Falling for a hate filled campaign that was based on fear of other and a slogan of ‘Take Back Control’ they fell for the notion that the UK would somehow be a better nation outside of the EU. What they actually meant was they wanted immigration to do down (it won’t) and wages it go up (the won’t)

They do not know what they have done. When the far-right wankers now calling for a no deal Brexit, talk about taking control, talk about wanting our country back, they were not talking about the country of working class voters who voted for Brexit. They are talking about taking control to roll back decades of reform on workers’ rights, the welfare state, tax and spend, financial regulation, environment protections. You name it they want rid. Free market and power is the name of the game, that is their only game. They do not give a shit about the poor dupes who were suckered into voting for them in 2016 and who they are lying to again to wrestle control in the EU elections.

The coup is complete and whoever is Prime Minister next does not have the will to deliver a deal. The only bright side to the horror we are living through is that all the bullshit and lies they continue to tell to get the working class to believe they cared for them will come back and haunt them in the end. Immigration is not going to stop. They are not going to put even one penny more into the NHS for all the lies they told. They hate the NHS, they cannot stand giving poor people anything in reality. They are not going to govern over a rise in living standards. You cannot have a rise in living standards when your country has no bloody trade deals anywhere and you have exited your biggest market by a mile. They keep threatening that people will go to war if the hardest of Brexit is not delivered. I don’t think this so. In fact, I predict civil unrest when those who would not normally take part in the democratic process realise how their votes have been stolen by lies.

We have fallen down the rabbit hole and I cannot see a way out.
