Personally I think that the Prime Minister has actually made government advice less clear.

Boris Johnson has unveiled a "conditional plan" to reopen society, allowing people in England to spend more time outdoors from Wednesday.
The PM also said people who could not work from home should return to the workplace - but avoid public transport.
He said a new Covid Alert System with five levels would govern how quickly lockdown restrictions could be eased. He hoped the next step "at the earliest by 1 June" would be for some primary pupils to return to school in England.
In an address to the nation, Mr Johnson said this stage would also involve reopening shops - but he cautioned this would only happen if supported by science. The next step could see some hospitality businesses and other public places reopen - "if the numbers support it" - but not earlier than 1 July.

I cant quarantine at his place because Ive not yet met his kids, and anyway I wouldnt want to get them sick. But its not clear if I can rent a hotel or Airbnb.

(102,618 posts)after that, in connection with "more exercise". So that seems to most people to mean "work the whole week, ie starting Monday". Before the guidance is released. And with people wondering if they're meant to turn up at the old time on Monday morning, but you can't use public transport, and you can't find out what they expect at work the next day, because it's Sunday evening when this was dumped on the nation.
This morning, Raaab on Radio 4 seems to be implying the return to work is also aimed at Wednesday. Or is a vague exhortation to make a bit more effort to restart work.
And they should bin "stay alert" as soon as possible. It sounds left over from the terrorism level stuff. "Stay Apart" would be more meaningful.
