What makes these wankers any different from the 'open up' protesters in the US? This is outrageous. Who do these fuckers think they are? Apparently these events are happening all over the country. I hope they are complete wet blankets and the organisers get the message that the country thinks they are moronic for even trying to be 'freedumb'.
Say yes to life, they say... lets all get together in one of the hardest hit NHS Trusts in the country to put up two fingers to every single one of us who has had our lives suspended to save our own lives and the lives of others.
On top of that, as a person with no outside space Hyde Park is my back garden. Covidiots wanting to come onto my patch to spread the virus will nilly, I have only one thing to say...

Good luck! I'm glad you're one of the serious folks.

(9,685 posts)It is not just the park you see, are they going to be in my local waitrose pricking up stuff for the picnic? I do not want to be anywhere near the environment of such reckless people.

However, there is a minority of right wingers who are anti lockdown. Usually to be found in the comment pages of the Telegraph and the Spectator but not many other places. That view hasn't gained much traction as yet with people as most Tory voters are more concerned with stopping a global pandemic than fussing over libertarian ideology.
It was however only a matter of time before the anti lockdown movement came to the UK. And they may start gaining more support among more people.

(46,535 posts)years now, other than quick trip every now and then to see mummy and father. I do not normally peruse the comments sections of the Torygraph anyway, lolol. I have seen some of the RW rabble whinging on about lockdowns in the DM.
We also have a few on the Chelsea (footie) boards I go on, most of the posters have been quite rational (shockingly.) Most of the true rotters are yanks anyway. Trump Humpers, but the admins on the main one are mostly lefties and boot the worst, as they always go all white pride hate spew (usually massive Muslim bashes.) 2 of the admins are Muslim, so that shite doesnt last long, lolol. One of the Muslim admins is a damn Tory though (he was Remain at least), so I get into some argy bargy with him, have for years. He banned me for a month long ago when I kept posting Cameron as a pig fucker gifs and pics, lolololol.

(14,805 posts).... On the local community Farcebook group where I live. Partly because the admin is a Tory activist who works for a local Tory MP!
Needless to say that said local community Farcebook group does tend to be quite right wing as a result. Local community Farcebook groups often show off the best in local communities but they also frequently show off the worst side and I don't think this is always an accident.
Nevertheless, you can clearly see from these things how Tory voters are thinking at present. They are just as concerned about Coronavirus and social distancing as anybody else. And somebody trying to stoke up anti lockdown sentiment in such places will be sure to get a very hostile reception from all sides of the political spectrum.
