95% of Windrush victims who have submitted claims are still without a penny of compensation.

More than two years later, 95% of Windrush victims who have submitted claims are still without a penny of compensation.

@BorisJohnson
if you believe #BlackLivesMatter I urge you not just to set up another working group but to Act.

#WindrushDay

It is almost like we are being run by a bunch of white privileged racists who do not actually give a fuck about anything but their own power and privilege. If you cannot fix this after 2 years of trying there is an utter lack of will to fix it, because they do not believe that the Windrush victims matter. Not one jot. It is the same way that Boris writes articles about saving Churchill instead of saying black lives matter. 72 years ago today Windrush arrived and for those in charge of us this century I think as a nation we are run by the same section of society that thought black people third class citizens then, today for this white male pale stale privilege government, they will say all the right things about how the Windrush generation has enriched our society, but they will mean not one word of it, because actions speak louder than words and 2 years on 95% of Windrush have not received a penny in compensation.

A whole load of Children who arrived in the Windrush generation on their parents (British) passports were basically told they had no right to be in the country. Many lost their jobs. Lost the right to the NHS. People had gone to Jamaica on holiday and then told they could not reenter the country. It was SHOCKING in its racism. All because civil servants had been given targets for deportation of illegals by the government and they were very definitely a low hanging fruit - how do you prove your right to remain if the only official document you have is a parents passport from the 1950's. These people are as British as I. The government put their hands up and apologised and then have done nothing to compensate for the harm done - because as I state above they do not see them as the same kind of citizens as them and they do not care.

Which is in itself insulting because they have been told they cannot apply for citizenship for a further 5 years of regularised residency. A lot of them will be dead by then - and they are British. They were British when they came here. I hate this government so much.
