Braverman is particularly anti-transgender:
She claimed these misinformed schools and teachers are socially transitioning kids, using the anti-trans dog-whistle that supportive adults are grooming children by affirming their identity.
...
In my view, a primary school where they are teaching eight or nine-year-old pupils year four children key words such as transgender, pansexual, asexual, gender expression, intersex, genderfluid, gender dysphoria, questioning or queer would be falling foul of government guidance nor is it age-appropriate to teach four-year-olds that people can change sex or gender, she said.

The culture secretary was offered the chance to stay in the role, according to the Mail Plus, who first reported the story. The website quoted a friend as saying: [Dorries] has decided now is the right time to leave cabinet.

Right wing Twitter is full of outrage about stuff like Policemen dancing the Macarena at Pride events but has virtually nothing to say about what's happening to the UK economy unless they can accuse somebody or something of being "woke".
Oh, and don't be surprised if Truss manages to find somebody even more unsuitable to run the Department of Culture than Mad Nad.

(102,360 posts)I couldn't think of anything about her apart from the "Education Secretary for 2 days" bit. Wikipedia does mention PPE contracts at her partner's firm: https://goodlawproject.org/news/michelle-donelan-partner-contracts/ , but nothing swivel-eyed.
