Nigel Farage won't stand in UK election so he can help (guess whose) US campaign

Nigel Farage has said he will not be making a return to British politics after a general election was called.

Nigel Farage will focus on the US election instead of the UK.

The Reform UK honorary president and former UKIP leader said he had thought "long and hard" as to whether he should stand to become an MP in the 4 July general election announced on Wednesday, but said "it is not the right time".

Mr Farage said although the general election is important, the United States election in November "has huge global significance" so he has chosen to "help with the grassroots campaign" there as a "strong America...is vital for our peace and security".

like buggering off across the pond during a British General Election to support a dangerous foreign would-be despot.

On the 4th of July 1776, the Founding Fathers declared American independence from Mad King George. On the 4th of July, 2024, Nigel will be declaring British dependence on Mad King Donald.

One of his customary sayings was that having a particular person along on a call-out was "as good as being five men short".

I don't know why this news story in the OP reminded me of that, but here we are.

Surely he comes across to the typical US MAGA voter, or MAGA-curious voter, as an English public school twat who was the kind of guy they wanted to get rid of with independence?

And not dissimilar at all to his UK fanbase.These people are already willing to overlook a heck of a lot of things in the people they want leading them.

If I were a Reform UK supporter (and thank chuff I'm not!) I would be absolutely furious with Farage for pulling this stunt.
