I knew Paul very well. I was his regular waiter. Both Coverdell and and Barnes fate was sealed because of the runoff. Coverdell would have lost to Wyche Fowler and Barnes would have won.

The runoff election occurred in 1992. If Wyche Fowler won in 1992, He would have won re-election in 1998. 2004,2010, and 2016 would be tough to predict.
