The Democratic candidates for the 2024 MD US Senate Election if Cardin retires will be:

Alsobrooks,Sarbanes,and Trone.
Raskin is not going to run because of the cancer and is likely to become chairman of the US House Oversight and Reform committee if and when the Democrats regain control of the US House of Representatives.

Between Alsobrooks,Sarbanes, and Trone, Trone has a lot of money and represents a US House District with Republican Counties. Sarbanes has high name recognition and represents a US House District based in the Greater Baltimore Metro Area. Alsobrooks is a Countywide Elected Official of the 2nd most populated county in MD(Prince George’s County).
Alsobrooks will get endorsements from Wes Moore,Aruna Miller,Anthony Brown,Brooke Lierman, and Glenn Ivey. Sarbanes will get endorsements from Dutch Ruppersberger and Kweisi Mfume. Cardin,Van Hollen,Hoyer, and Raskin will remain neutral.

Alsobrooks will carry Charles County,Montgomery County,Prince George’s County and Baltimore City.
Sarbanes will carry Anne Arundel County,Baltimore County,Howard County, and Harford County.
Trone will carry Frederick County,Carroll County, and Washington County.

The only US Senator that has been in elected office longer than Cardin is Grassley-IA.
Grassley’s 1st political office in IA was IA House of Representatives in 1959.

I don't agree with trying to push people out the door unless it's their decision. This is the second time I think I've seen a post like this.
