If Durbin(D-IL) does not seek re-election in 2026, Who will be the 4th black US Senator from IL?

Kwame Raoul-D?
Lauren Underwood-D?
Kwame Raoul-D is favored because he has won two statewide elections in IL and is good friends with the Obama’s.

Susana Mendoza-D is favored because she has won three statewide elections in IL.

Susana Mendoza will be the next US Senator from IL.
Mendoza won
6 elections for the IL state house(2000,2002,2004,2006,2008,and 2010)
2 elections for the Chicago city clerk(2011 and 2015)
3 elections for IL Comptroller(2016,2018,and 2022)
Mendoza won 1 election for IL state house 1998 and 1 election for Chicago Mayor 2019.

Some of your other posts showed that you know nothing about Illinois politics. Mendoza could win it, and Frerichs could step into her current job quite easily.

Listen to her speak some time. She can speak about budget details for an hour with no notes! And Frerichs is a very caring person. He shows up for everything and actually answers questions.

I will see both of them in Springfield on August 15 and 16th.

Raoul is a prostate cancer survivor and has been diagnosed with COVID otherwise he would be an excellent US Senate candidate and US Senator like his so called big brother Barack Obama.
Giannalous should win another election for IL Secretary of State before running for US Senate or Governor.
Kwame Raoul and Susana Mendoza are frontrunners for the 2026 IL US Senate Election.
Kwame has won a tough primary elections in IL.
2018 IL Attorney General Democratic Primary against Pat Quinn.
Raoul lost his 1st two elections in 1995 and 1999 for Chicago City Council against Democratic incumbent Toni Preckwinkle. Raoul then got appointed to Obama’s state senate seat in 2004 and served there until he become IL Attorney General.
Mendoza’s only losing race that was an embarrassment was the 2019 election for Chicago Mayor. She finished in 5th place.
Frerichs is the only Democrat outside of Chicago Metro Area. Champaign County.
