If John Sarbanes decides to seek the Democratic nomination for his father's US Senate seat.

What place will he be in in the Democratic primary?
Sarbanes has high name recognition and has been in Congress since 2007.
Sarbanes does not have support from the establishment.
Statewide elected officials Moore,Miller,Lierman, and Brown are going to endorse Angela Alsobrooks.
US Representatives Hoyer,Mfume,Ivey, and Raskin are going to endorse Alsobrooks.
County Executives that are going to endorse Alsobrooks.
Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman
Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski
Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott
Charles County Board of Commissioners President Rueben Collins.
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.
Jon Cardin is also considering entering the 2024 MD US Senate Election.

Right, good question. 'Estabishment' may like her, but I'd like to know why. elleng Jul 2023 #3

I expected Steny Hoyer,John Oszlewski, and Steuart Pittman to endorse Sarbanes.
The establishment are supporting Alsobrooks because Alsobrooks will be the 1st black female US Senator from MD and they want to see that happen. John Sarbanes is not the only political heir that might run. Jon Cardin is also considering to run. Before Angela Alsobrooks was a household name, I expected John Sarbanes to succeed Ben Cardin in the US Senate and Jon Cardin to succeed John Sarbanes in MD-3.

I guess P.G. likes her, as it knows her, but what has she done? (P.S. A personal friend, daughter's classmate, is now her P.R. person (I think,) and has worked in her administration(s) for years.)

I too expected Sarbanes to run.
