in the hopes of beating the republican in the first round, or my second round vote for the Democrat wouldn't count.

Ranked choice allows third party voting with less disastrous outcomes. It might be good for primaries first where there are many choices. In some states it would help eliminate run-off elections which are costly.

Approval voting wher you check all you approve of sounds better to me for primaries. Winner is who gets the most votes. My concern with ranked choice is it gave us a formal GOP Cop as our mayor in NYC.

I understand that opponents are less likely to bad mouth each other. That part sounds good. I’m getting tired of the current tv adds.
