(135 posts)You find records for a dead person named John Doe and steal his identity. You register to vote as John Doe. Come the election you vote as yourself, and you also vote (in a different location) as John Doe.
Odds are that John Doe will not dispute your claim to be John Doe. However, it's possible that someone else may try to vote as John Doe. That's one reason they check you off the roll when you vote.
