If it is still good, try to find someone who would want it instead of throwing it out. A friend? A neighbor? I don't like them as well as incandescents either, but I use them------and being frugal, I would always take a free bulb if it was offered to me.

If it is still in a good condition, why are you dumping it. You can handover it to someone who needs it

I didnt even know they needed a special discard process. They are supposed to save on energy and are used for "Green purposes". Why did you not like them? I am using them and I cant really tell a difference. Do they come in different wattages like the regular light bulbs? IS the mercury in these dangerous? I wonder if they have these instructions and warnings on the box. I will be checking on the next purchase. IF you find out how to dispose, please post.
