Looking for videocard for older desktop
I'm running Win10 and my ATI Radeon HD 4870 is not supported very well.
Are PCI-E card versions backward compatible?
Any suggestions for a comparable or faster card that does support Win 10 drivers?
Also...my current card only supports up to Direct X 10 I believe.

If you're interested in a particular card, you can search for it:

I don't see where to get any info about drivers, except for the review themselves (bottom of the table), and I can't see how to find the most recent reviews.
Maybe you should go to Radeon's web site to look for drivers. That's what I did for Nvidia cards/drivers.

I sent an email to AMD requesting a comparable card that does.

Those guys test cards every day. They have break downs for just about every price point as well
Should have just thrown out that link in the first place

Keep in mind that is the version with no power connector and it is throttled to achieve that. The reviews I am reading on it seem to indicate that is not much of an issue as long as you aren't trying to get ultra settings at 1080 in grafics heavy games.
People report being able to get good results at 1080 in high settings in almost everything though so with your occasional gaming I would guess it will chew up anything you throw at it.

Didn't even blink.
I may get the game Fallout. Looks interesting. I mainly like the graphics. Walking around in other worlds. The shooting part distracts me at times but it can be fun too...LOL.
I think you made a good choice.
