SIM cards for traveling
There is no cell phone group so I apologize here but they are little computers...lol.
Anyway...We are planning a trip overseas to New Zealand.. We will be there 2 months maybe longer.
How do SIM cards work?
Will buying one there allow us to convert our iPhones to "local" phones?

You purchase for New Zealand. When you return stateside just put the Credo card back in.

If not then your options are:
- upgrade to an international plan via your current provider.
- get a burner cell that works in your destination.
