Difficulties with Chrome only...

I use my LG tablet with software version VK81526A to visit DU. When I look at the "last date visited" for Democratic Underground in Chrome using the Google search engine, it indicates my last visit "to this webpage" was August 11, 2017. I have posted since then.

Earlier today, we got a bit closer to reality... the date says September 3, 2017, but now we again back to August 11th.

We've been seeing the Jackie Speier post for too long.

Any ideas? Not a total nerd, but not a dunce either.

1. I don't know what you're asking. Why do you involve Google's search engine when coming to DU?

Why don't you just bookmark the page?

2. Why I am asking shouldn't really matter...

It is a computer help and support question. It should be taken at face value.

Any advice?

Are you using the Android browser or the Chrome browser. Are you signed into Chrome? do you sign into Chrome with multiple google accounts? Are you synching with other devices that access your google accounts?

Signing into a Google Account is not the same as signing into Chrome with your Google account. It sounds convoluted, but if you sign into Chrome and sync, you gain a lot of flexibility. History management idoes get more complex, though. I would Google "signing into Chrome" and see what you can do with it.

But for now, try clearing cache, cookies, history.

You can also go to settings/storage/apps/google/clear search data

See what happens, Can't get too specific without knowing how you use your tablet and how it's set up.

It really doesn't sound like too much of a problem, though. I would just bookmark DU's homepage and sign into DU. The site refreshes at each sign in. You can also click on the Latest tab and have the links refresh that way.

but, I'll take these steps in the morning and see what happens.

Thank you for the help. I've had these issues off and on since July, but now it seems to be permanently stuck on August 11.

Come on now... this is not right.
