Picasa

Had to do a Reset on my Wife's computer. She was using Picasa for her pictures, but it's now gone. It was easy to use and worked. Any ideas for a suitable replacement?

I can get Picasa through softonic, but last time I downloaded something from them it came with a nasty enough virus that I had to do a full reformat.

Thanks!

But I found a version of Picasa 3.9 through uptodown. I virus checked it OK and will try that.

I went to the alternativeTo (crowdsourced software recommendations) site and did a search for alternatives to Picasa for Windows, with a "free" license:

https://alternativeto.net/software/picasa/?license=free&platform=windows

The only one I have experience with is Ashampoo, which is a "freemium" license (you can DL it for free and use the basic features but have to pay for more features and/or to disable their 'upgrade' nagger.) It's a decent program, may be a bit more than you need, but Ashampoo supports their stuff and keeps it reasonably secure.

And you can use it desktop-side, not having to do everything on the web.

helpfully,
Bright

I have IrfanView. It's okay. But there are also free online photo editors. Here's an article describing 30:

Pixlr is one that's often recommended.

Picasa, 3.9 2014. I'm not sure if there's anything later.

Buzz me a private message if you haven't been able to find anything and want the connection.

for the quick replies. I managed to get the Picaso version I downloaded to work and, it's what she's used to.

The problem is a recurring "Task manager plug and play reboot required" problem. I'm hoping the reset fixed it. Nothing else seems to.
