How to transfer photo (via messanger) to my pc
ZTE Z828
I can hook up my phone via cord and transfer photos that I've taken with the phone, but the photo was sent to me, embedded in a message, and my computer doesn't see it.
Any tips on how I can snag it?
TIA

(3,863 posts)On an iPhone, there is a way to do a 'screen shot' of whatever is on your screen. If that feature exists on a ZTE Z828, then that might work. Screen-shots on an iPhone get saved to the same place as photos.
Is it Facebook Messenger? If so, log into Facebook on your PC, open up messages, and then you can right-click on the image and save it to your PC.

(6,568 posts)Using the method I posted above. One, you end up with the original resolution pic. Two, you dont have to crop anything out of the pic.

(6,849 posts)I still had to poke around to find the screen shot... it doesn't show up in the actual photo gallery. But the screen shot itself had a "share" option and I was able to send that to my email.
It's not the ideal solution, as I'd like to have a full resolution version, but this will definitely serve my purpose today, so thanks so much for the suggestion.

(4,298 posts)On an iPhone you can touch and hold the photo in a text message and a menu pops up that let's you save the picture. It's then saved in your photos. In photos you can email it to yourself. There are other ways from photos like saving to Dropbox if you use that but emailing it to yourself always works. Then you can save the photo as an attachment on your computer.
I assume you can follow a similar procedure on an Android phone.
iCloud for Windows is another option you might want to check out. It will allow you to synchronize iPhone or iPad photos with a folder on you PC. You still have to save photos in text messages as I described above.

(6,849 posts)There is a drop down screen that pops up when you hit the three dots, but the only options are to set the photo as wall paper or contact photo... or print... which looks like it tries to convert it to a pdf...

(4,298 posts)Do you get a different menu if you just tap the photo?

(4,298 posts)I get those same results with images that are in my photo gallery. Doesn't work on a photo in a message. But the above "screen snap" suggestion served my purpose for today. Thanks!
