1- Login to facebook with your username and password

2- When you come to the very first page, look at the very top of the page for the down black arrow on the far right of the page, at the top.

3- Click that arrow

4- Choose Settings

5- Under "GENERAL ACCOUNT SETTINGS", click "Manage Account". General Account Settings is the very first page you come to after you click Settings.

6- In the gray-shaded "Manage Account" settings box, look for "REQUEST ACCOUNT DELETION". There is another option for "Deactivate your Account", which is not what I think you want.

7- I don't know what happens after you click "REQUEST ACCOUNT DELETION". I am sure it is self-explanatory and has an explanation of what to do.

One thing I need to say as host of this group: I understand people are in a hurry for help. This sub-forum is not set up for immediate, within-5-minutes-response-time help. I would allow 24 hours. If you are truly in need of extremely fast help, the best bet is to call the manufacturer on the phone, or, in many cases, just Google/Bing/DuckDuckGo what you want and usually the answer is there in the results, unless it's the very first time it's occurred.

Good luck.

My husband died suddenly and unexpectedly a week ago Wednesday. I posted this upsetting news on DU bc some would ask what's happened to her.

I have a mountain of stuff to attend to.

His FB is on his work phone which I will turn in eventually. But I want to delete personal stuff and close that FB account for a number of reasons.

I may have accessed a page on there how to delete account.

But your instructions are very much welcome.
