Any Yahoo geeks/ experts/ nerds on DU? Help needed.

My 97 yr old mom’s Yahoo email account has gotten messed up somehow. I have been trying to figure it out, but am rather techno-challenged.

When I try to sign in to her account, I get the following message:

Uh-oh. We can’t sign you in right now. Please try again in a while.

When I try to create a new password, this message shows up:

We can’t recover your account online because there are no other potions on file for your account.

I have sent a couple of test e-mails to see if they bounce back as undeliverable, but that does not seem to be the case. If her account no longer existed, wouldn’t I get it back?

Thanks to any who chose to respond.

...laptop. Same result on all 3 devices.

She has a Jitterbug phone, but does not use that to get on-line. I haven’t tried that.

Are you trying to login using the Yahoo website or are you trying to connect an email app to the Yahoo servers?

...”create an account” option using her current email address, which resulted in an “account already exists” message, so the account must still be there, but I sure as hell can’t access it.

Click Restore from Backup, and if any backups are available, they will be listed.

She may have recently changed something in settings and a restore from a slightly earlier icloud backup date will hopefully fix the problem.

...impatient if things don’t show up right away and just sort of “stabs” around at everything hoping to find the right button/bar/ etc.

She may certainly have reset something unintentionally.
