Advice requested on second monitor for Microsoft Surface Pro 2017

Working from home (no surprise) and my current second monitor is misbehaving - going black intermittently. Seems like all connections are good, and it's an older model so I think I need a new one.

Best solution compatible with MS Surface mini DisplayPort output? I've searched on several sites and can't find anything that connects directly. Maybe I'm not looking for the right thing, or maybe the only solution is an output adaptor to DVI or HDMI. Ideas appreciated!!

This is one that I was looking at! And you're definitely right about the miniDP to DVI/HDMI cable. The last time I bought a secondary monitor, there were no options - everything was VGA to VGA! I've used laptops exclusively at home and had desktops with multiple screens at work, so I haven't had to personally buy one in more than ten years.
