Hi! Lately, I have been having a problem viewing and posting images.
There is only a little photo icon with a torn corner that I can see, yet at times I can see other images. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem or what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.

(8,546 posts)You should also let people know what you are using to view DU - tablet, phone, computer, and the operating system and browser.
Many of the problems with images not showing up here are caused by one of two issues.
using images from sites that don't allow hotlinking (embedding their images on someone else's website)
privacy settings in browsers blocking images to prevent sites from tracking you (these settings can change during updates)
I'm pretty sure images from Facebook fall into the first category and Twitter images into the second.

(63,221 posts)Some of the pics show up on my PC (HP Elitebook) and some don't. However I just posted a pic of my brother's new puppy in the lounge and other people can see her, but I can't. I can only see the little photo icon. This seems to be a recent problem, as I haven't had problems with this before.

(8,546 posts)The picture you posted in the lounge was hosted by them as well as the 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 11th images from the photography contest thread. Here is one of those images:
If you can't see it, there are a few things to try:
open up this thread in another browser/device to see if the problem is browser related or perhaps something affecting all your browsers/devices
right-click on the broken image icon, copy the image address and then paste that into a new tab or window. If you can view it by itself, there may be something in your browser causing it not to show when embedded on a different website (although that really shouldn't happen for Imgur)
if you have browser extensions that could block content (e.g. ad blockers, privacy tools, script blockers), turn them off to see if it fixes the issue
try temporarily disabling some of your browsers privacy settings (e.g. tracking protection, etc.) to see if that is the culprit
