This mazysearch has taken over my computer. I can't even do a search on it
because it will not connect to anything. The only places I can go to are the ones I have already bookmarked.
I had this problem a few weeks ago from some other thirid party controlling me.
Any information about how to get rid of it?
I just realized I can use my phone to check.
Oh, the mazysearch is in my Google Chrome settings but the little button that will let you turn it off won't work.....apparently I am not the administrator!

(22,976 posts)I pay for Malewarebytes? I actually downloaded it and it took off the maleware so it is fixed for now. But again this is the second such episode in as many weeks for me.
Do you recommend Malewarebytes? I have a new ACER computer that I love but I remember my last computer I was able to just use the Windows defenders programs.

(18,073 posts)It would be worthwhile investing in a subscription to Malwarebytes. I'm not saying this infection is innocent, but it's probably on the lower end of risk to the personal information stored on your machine.
Be aware that Malwarebytes can be resource heavy. ie it may slow down your machine and internet browsing. IMO that is preferable to having a computer rendered unusable by malware.
It's a good product and worth the subscription.
