two problems setting up my new HP laptop.

Could use some advice!

I have followed all the instructions on how to get the laptop to communicate with my older HP printer. I downloaded and installed the printer driver. It says, then, to look on the screen of the printer for the icon for wifi and touch it. NO such icon appears.

So then we tried connecting printer with laptop with USB printer cable. Hit the print button to send document. NOTHING.

Will I have to get a new printer/scanner to be able to print from this laptop?

........................

And. No matter what I do, I can't get the headphones to deliver sound. Tried several different headphones. The setting should be appropriate. Nothing.

Suggestions very welcome. Thanks in advance.

HOWEVER. I have not restarted the laptop since. (Another member suggests, and I will do so now.)

Ended up going to the printers website to get the latest drivers for his 1 year old laptops. After installing these new drivers I had to restart the laptop and then finally got it to work.

As to the sound go look in the control panel for sounds. I removed the old drivers and then again went to windows update and got new drivers for that also.

It seems the drivers that are on some HP laptops need to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

Hope that helps!
