Followup on the problem of getting HP ink.
So I was able to score cartridges at my local Kroger store even though they are UNAVAILABLE at every online source I tried.
Surprise!
But now. Trouble.
The blue was low. And so I replaced the blue cartridge.
Msg on printer: Now, the magenta, the black, and the yellow LOW.
Okay, replaced the magenta, the black, and the yellow. (although they weren't low before putting the blue replacement in)
All brand new cartridges now.
Hit the button to test by scanning a color postcard.
EVERYTHING COMES OUT SHADES OF GREEN.
Tried again. Tried turning off the machine. Tried taking out the cartridges and putting them back in.
EVERYTHING COMES OUT SHADES OF GREEN.
Lotta cussing going on here.
Any thoughts?

(388 posts)1. Did you try the cartridge cleaning and alignment functions?

(13,693 posts)2. LOL I have no idea what that is.
And I'm running out of time to get this critical project done.

(7,715 posts)5. You should be able to do this from the printer's control panel
Can you post your HP printer's model number? That will help folks here to guide you on this.

(10,297 posts)3. Similar happened to me. I tossed the printer, bough old HP1200
mono-black laserjet. In 3 years, I had one problem. A belt that pulls the paper through the machine became slippery, and I had to read the manual to learn how to clean it. Easy to do, it keeps printing.
When I need color at home, I send files to a vendor and get product mailed back.

(7,918 posts)4. if you have a critical project to print
get kinko to print it for you. You can then sort out your printer issues while not under pressure.

(13,693 posts)7. thanks for the hint, not possible here
My brother is bringing critical documents tomorrow morning that need to be copied/printed while he is here. In addition to the stuff I have to print in advance. We're working on a dual citizenship issue for him.
