A new "shiny toy" to play with: Windows 10X Preview

You can download and install it at the windowschimp link above.
Actually this link is the download link at Mega, and it's always been safe for me. Of course, you can scan the multi-gigabyte download (which is in zip format) once it is downloaded.
The directions at the windowschimp link are very easy to follow, but I would highly recommend having a bit of experience with Hyper-V Manager. When I first cranked up the virtual Windows 10X Preview, it took a few minutes and I had to endure a black screen. I looked around a little. Navigation is definitely different from Windows 10 desktop version.
Windows 10x is supposed to be the direct competitor to Chrome OS and Ipad.
Enjoy!

(4,285 posts)I have to have yet another goddamn update from Microsoft? When will enough be enough?
This is a totally optional "toy" to play with. No updates required. If you don't want to play with this, don't. It does require some time and just motivation to play with a new operating system.
No worries. Just ignore this.
I'm seriously sick of it.

(3,216 posts)But my main Desktop is Win7.
I'm still pissed they forced so many people into Win10. My ex was forced into it, and it caused her a lot of problems.
Not to mention all the spyware.

(37,468 posts)My only other suggestion is to do a CRC check on your download, and make sure your Hypervisor is set up correctly.
Good luck. I have nothing further to offer.
Thank you
