Casting YouTube to TV (Never mind - It fixed itself! LOL)

Last edited Tue Aug 3, 2021, 05:14 PM - Edit history (1)

Hi all,
On my old laptop and chromebook, when I was viewing a Youtube video, there would be an option to watch it on my TV with one click. I recently got a new laptop, and now that option is no longer available when I am watching Youtube videos. I have browsed around settings and such, and googled, but have not found an answer.

Any idea how I can get that option back to send to my tv when watching Youtube videos on my laptop, so I don't have to go to the TV app and search again for the video?

Muchas gracias

Maybe you need to reconfigure the TV options to connect/recognize the new laptop Hugh_Lebowski Aug 2021 #2

You may've done so a while back with the old lappie and forget that you had to do this at one point?

If not, are you using the Chrome browser?

I can cast YouTube from my Linux desktop, my Windows Laptop, and my Chromebook, and my wife can 'cast from her Android phone or tablet, but I haven't set up 'casting on any other browsers.

We have a dumb TV with a Chromecast dongle.

I went to YouTube and the "Play on TV" icon is there! I swear I did not change anything! LOL

Thanks for the replies anyway!
