Personally, if you do, I'd allow remote connection to the person(s) you trust and can talk you through the changes that will address your problem/concern. And I think it is fair to pay them for the engagement time as the problem is addressed. See Google/Apple Pay. That may not mean you will be happy with the solution, but time is time...

There are remote - person to person - desktop sharing utilities out there. Chrome has it built into their browser. Windows, too.
